Why isn't the price for Home Sleep Tests fixed?
The base prices that are reflected are based on auto-scored reports.
However in instances where data seems to show some anomalies, manual scoring is recommended, and this would require a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist to analyze the whole night's sleep data, minute by minute.
Another factor contributing to the price variation is the need for a doctor's report, and whether a report from a General Practitioner or a Specialist is preferred.
All prices will be confirmed prior to the sleep test and there are no hidden costs.
I snore very loudly and gasp during sleep, can I just go for the cheapest test?
It would be advisable to go through the Pre-Test Probability Assessment before deciding if a more pocket-friendly test is suitable for you.
All our home sleep tests are diagnostic grade but some tests would reveal more than others. For example, the ResMed Apnealink is good to screen for the occurrence of apneas during sleep, but it would not be able to differentiate the sleep stages you are in.
