Collaborating doctors are the doctors we work closely with to ensure the continuity of care for our patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. We review our collaborating doctors every quarterly, and should they no longer be working with us, or should they no longer be responding to us, they are taken down from the list. This is to be fair to the doctors, the patients, and ourselves. We should not claim to be working closely with the doctors if we are not, and vice versa.
Communication is key when it comes to our collaborating doctors. With the consent of our patients, we share information on the progress of their CPAP/ BIPAP therapy journey, and actively participate in discussions on the possible care plans for the patient. Remote monitoring has allowed us to quickly identify problems which the patients encounter when using the CPAP/ BIPAP device, and together with their respective doctors, come up with solutions without having to wait for their 6-monthly or yearly review.
Our collaborating doctors also assist in offering professional advice to our patients who are seeking a second opinion about their condition, whether via teleconsultations or in-clinic consultations. They also provide teleconsultations to the foreign patients whom we manage, who would prefer to consult a specialist in Singapore, but are unable to physically do so.
In addition to patient management, our collaborating doctors play an enormous part in our efforts to heighten the awareness of Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Singapore. This can be in the form of video contents contributed by our collaborating doctors, or even public talks and webinars for members of the public as well as organizations.
